Legendary Illustrator

Chris Armstrong

THE LEGACY OF THE CHRIS ARMSTRONG STILL RUNS DEEP IN THE OUTDOOR WORLD TODAY. HE WAS ONE OF AMERICA’S MOST TALENTED AND PROLIFIC WILDLIFE ARTISTS WHOSE WORK APPEARED IN ALMOST EVERY MAJOR OUTDOOR PUBLICATION IN NORTH AMERICA OVER THE PAST 50 YEARS.

Sadly, the well-known Florida resident passed away in April of 2014 at the age of 66. Since then, little has been done to keep his incredible work alive. Until now.

To showcase the Chris Armstrong outdoor gallery, Bass Sport Athletic and Salt Sport Athletic are introducing an exclusive line of Armstrong illustrated t-shirts. And to honor his lifelong commitment to sportfishing, as well as natural resource conservation efforts, we will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of these products to conservation groups and organizations for future generations of anglers.

Resource conservation was equally important to Armstrong. In addition to supporting conversation groups like B.A.S.S, his artwork took center stage in his home state of Florida, as well. In 2007, for example, Armstrong was commissioned to design and produce the artwork for the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve on Florida’s Atlantic Coast, a massive job showing the extensive flora and fauna occupying the coastal ecosystems critical to the health and well-being of recreational hunting and fishing.

In producing the highly acclaimed project for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, which he took great pride in producing, Armstrong was honest and the challenge it presented: “You have to show wildlife in its natural habitat. You have to be real. You must show what’s there – that’s the job of an artist. You must showcase it and celebrate it because conservation matters. Without that nothing else matters.”

Make your own statement. Buy some Armstrong Art and celebrate one of the fishing industry’s iconic masters.
